Vaccination Requirements for Boarding

At Old Flatts Farm, the health and safety of every pet in our care is our top priority. In line with the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council's licensing guidelines, we require that all pets boarding with us are fully vaccinated and up to date with their treatments.

Required Vaccinations

Please ensure all vaccinations are administered at least two weeks before their stay to allow full immunity to develop.

Before boarding, dogs must be vaccinated against the following:

  • Canine Parvovirus

  • Canine Distemper

  • Canine Adenovirus (Hepatitis)

  • Leptospirosis

  • Kennel Cough (Infectious Tracheobronchitis)This is mandatory. Please note that this is not part of the routine annual boosters.

Please ensure all vaccinations are administered at least two weeks before their stay to allow full immunity to develop. (Please note: The Kennel Cough Vaccine cannot give 100% immunity against all varieties of Kennel Cough, as such the owner takes full responsibility for this. Old Flatts Farm cannot accept liability if a dog contracts Kennel Cough whilst boarding).  

Before boarding, cats must be vaccinated against the following:

  • Feline Panleukopenia (Enteritis)

  • Feline Herpesvirus

  • Feline CalicivirusThese are commonly included in the standard feline triannual booster.

Cats must also have been vaccinated at least two weeks prior to their stay with us.

Vaccination Records

We require up-to-date vaccination certificates for all animals on arrival. These must be signed by a qualified veterinary professional. Unfortunately, we cannot admit any animal whose vaccinations are not current, as per our licensing obligations and animal welfare focus.
